Johor, located in the south of the Peninsular, is a state with a vibrant and colourful history. It is also the home of Malaysia's first economic growth corridor, Iskandar Malaysia. Launched on Nov 4, 2006, Iskandar Malaysia is three times bigger than Singapore and two times the size of Hong Kong, which is divided into five flagship development zones – Johor Baru City Centre, Iskandar Puteri (formerly known as Nusajaya), Western Gate Development, Eastern Gate Development and Senai-Skudai. The region spanning over 2,217 sq km is located in the southern most part of Johor. It is expected to drive the growth of the property market in Johor in the coming years as the former is poised to become an international metropolis by 2025.
